Eden Alternative at Grandvue
Founded in 1991 by Dr. William Thomas, a Harvard-educated physician and geriatrician, the Eden Alternative strives to create a vibrant living environment for Elders by eliminating the plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom that are often prevalent in long term care.
Grandvue embarked on its Eden Alternative journey in 2000 and has been striving to provide opportunities for meaningful activities and empowering Elders with as much decision making authority as possible in the areas that impact their lives.
Grandvue’s plants, birds, fish, cats and volunteer pets allow Elders the opportunity to give as well as receive care, while visiting children’s groups provide spontaneity and variety for a rich and diverse daily life.
