Volunteers

Volunteers enhance the lives of Grandvue’s Residents by helping facilitate weekly outings, Bingo games, group activities and special events. They also assist with one-to-one activities such as nail care, reading and letter writing. Many volunteers fill the role of a special friend for a Resident and provide comfort and companionship by sharing stories and memories.

Volunteering can provide an outlet for community members to connect with others, make new friends and increase social and relationship skills. Volunteering is good for the mind and body, as it can increase self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction.

There is a natural sense of accomplishment that accompanies helping others, and volunteering is also a fun and easy way to explore new interests. Volunteers often find a renewed creativity, motivation and vision that carries over into other aspects of their lives.

VolunTeens

Volunteering is a great way to gain career experience and learn valuable job skills. Younger community members may become part of Grandvue’s VolunTeen program. After training, VolunTeens assist throughout the year with pet care, outings, games and individual activities with Residents.

Please contact Grandvue’s Activity Director at (231) 536-2286 for more information about volunteering opportunities.
